Battery fully charged never showing the full 420Km anymore

Hello
when I receive the car 100% charge show 420Km - after 2 weeks it is showing between 320 and 330 Km.
Do you have the same behavior ? is it normal ?
Or do I need to take it back to warranty ?

My understanding is that these range amounts are based on your recent driving and so can vary depending on how you have driven over the last few days/weeks. If you drive in normal or sport and push the car the range the car will show when you charge it back up to 100% will be less.

you are right. values are changing up and down from charges to charges.

You want the guessometer to display your range as accurately as possible. The smartest EVs base (gu)estimated range on your driving history, so it will change.
Some EV owners monitor their efficiency and modify their driving to eek out more range for the challenge of it. I used to try and up the miles/kWh figure of my Ioniq.
My Tesla doesn’t display that information in a useful way, so I don’t bother any more.
But if you know how many miles/kWh your car will do, you can calculate the range yourself.

I've had my car for 3 weeks now and the range has dropped from 191 miles after 2 charges down to 132 miles. I've charged it up from half, almost empty, almost full but it will still not show 191 again.

I drive motorways at 70mph with ACC on pretty much most of the time, and always in Eco mode.

This seemed to coincide with me setting the charging to 80% as recommended for the battery. I needed the full charge for a longer journey, but even at 100% instead of 80 it still reads 132.

Could this be a software glitch rather than a driving style issue?

This will pretty much reduce your range. 70mph will reduce range, as will using ACC, as you no longer gain any benefit from regenerative braking (or going downhill). Also Eco mode works best on urban driving, when you are accelerating and decelerating. Eco+ mode will restrict you to 53mph to conserve battery.

Key figure to look at is the AEC figure, see Power Assistant.

You will need a figure below 25 to get that 191 mile range.

If you set the max to 80% then you will see a reduced range. The predicted range is based on your previous driving experience

I would suggest charging to 100%, use the vehicle down to 20%, and then recharge back to 100% and see if that makes a difference.

If it doesn't then there may be a software issue.

The 80% battery recommendation is not needed on the ORA. Ora have built in the necessary capacity buffers so you can charge to 100% without worrying about the impact this has on the battery life.

Great info, many thanks. I'd just add, to get to that Battery screen...press the four squares menu button right of main screen, then press Battery symbol. Took me ages to figure that out !

I had similar experience when I first got my Ora, but found that it was mostly due to how I was using the car, in that I kept recharging on a daily basis and kept the battery in the 90-100% range. I found that the range in km was steadily reducing down to 350 or less ( compared to 420 I expected for extended range vehicle). I subsequently found that if I ran the battery down to around 15-20% and then fully charged car the range started to come back to the full 420km. Have done this multiple times now and I’m more satisfied and confident about the range I’m getting from a full charge
