About two weeks ago I took my Funky Cat in because it was making loud squeaking / rattling noises. I was told the track rod had been bent (proberly by a pot hole), today (13/11/2023) phone up to chase and was told "track rod was in but the nuts were unavailable, so I said its a right off then and I could hear the person the other end shrug. I have now got to get hold of Motability and find out what they are going to do.

Id be supprised if they couldn't get the nuts. I work in a garage. And wee keep all sorts of nuts etc in stock as we do repairs and sometimes we have to remove nuts and they can't be reused.

Iv never came across a thread that we didn't have the correct nut for.

across the vehicle world. Perhaps a handful of different nuts are used. And I can guarantee they will have the nuts to hand. Or perhaps just fobing you off.

I'd wager it'd be an M12 course thread. With either a self locking nut or a castle nut. If hub end. If not it's just a simple M12/14 fine thread nut that locks against the track rod end
