When will we get Apple CarPlay on the ORA CAT?

i'm being fed the same BS from my dealership although to be fair its not them its GWM
ORA UK is organising the distribution of the two apps. I have asked ORA UK about this on a couple of occasions and the replies I received are posted above.

Hi All, Just confirming I'm still on the Beta in NZ, but zero issues with Android (NZ already had wireless Car Play, we've just been waiting for Android Auto). I followed up an official dealer and they said they received a copy of the production version last week, so I am heading in soon to have the production flash completed. Not sure if that is the same for all countries (as it seems we all have different features), but again seems promising and hopefully your dealers are starting to see a production version for distribution also.

I read the forum, I am quite sad about the given situation with Android Auto. Because when buying ORA03 in March, AndroidAuto was promised, and Navigation was mentioned in the official price list. As a result, Navigation is a dart on a white screen. But the dealer promises an update "every moment". This is European Union Latvia!

Hi! Have you received the production version yet? And if so, how is it? Hoping it will be in Aus soon!

Not yet, hoping to head in tomorrow and get it done, will let you know, but have heard others going in for it without issues. As mentioned for me even the beta has been 100% solid, so not expecting any problems with the prod version. Keen to see if I can read the release notes to see what other fixes may be documented. Have heard the dealer has these docs, but just need translated to English.

Let us know how it goes Phil. Just got an Ora here in NZ in the last couple of weeks. I like the car, but of course I'm keen to hear if it's available, and I could maybe get the dealer to update for Android auto and other updates sooner than later.

Hi Brandon, will do. I didn't manage to get in last week, so aiming for this week. The AA beta was 100% solid, so have zero expectations of any issues. I do know the production version is 100% available with some dealers so would go hit yours up to source and flash it. Mine was a Wellington dealer.

The flashing took about 30-40 min, and they did have to tinker and flick the car in some factory/dealer mode for it to take from the USB, but once away had a coffee and was all good. After this process you will have to reset any settings as it all goes back to defaults e.g. I turn off the default Dolby feature as I think the stereo sounds way better with it off, plus time dates etc will all reset. As mentioned Android works well, plus you can install some cool apps that work e.g. the plugshare app, so you can easily find all local charging points from the car. I think my only complaint is volume control, as you loose the in built swipe down from top on the Ora to get the volume menu when in AA. So if your playing spotify or something the passenger cant control sound as only the steering buttons work. Although maybe that's not a bad thing

Good to know, I'm also in Wellington, got mine from Lower Hutt supersite, I'll go ping them this week as well and see if they have it and can book me in sometime soon. I tend to use the steering wheel for commune so I think it'll fit my needs on that regard...I'll have a fiddle with the Dolby etc from your suggestions too, thanks for that

Got mine done today at the supersite in LH... works a treat, they say 1hr to cut over, but 40-45min easy... did it while i had a coffee and doom-scrolled.. connects fine through USB or thru the local Wifi of the ORA. and reconnects easy, once fiddling with the setup of Android Auto I'm now sorted and all is well (note active wallpapers don't work when it tries to pull it across). Thanks for the info on timing @philwhitehead

Wonder what the go is in Australia, would hope and think it's the same as NZ. I mentioned a potential Beta to my dealer but all they would tell me is that I will hear from GWM ANZ directly if there is an update. Might have to contact some other dealers? My dealer has been hopeless in a number of other ways too. Wish I could get download the newer firmware directly. @Brandon @philwhitehead has the AA Beta included any more features? The current software in ANZ seems very lackluster compared to EU. No facial recognition, mobile app connectivity, eManual, 4G and Wifi connectivity for OTA updates etc. For the most part I love the car but I hate the feeling we are getting inferior software for no apparent reasonable reason, it can't be that hard to port to ANZ.
